Gridbase

Gridbase is a level three project aimed at improving energy stability and renewable energy integration in developing communities through the use of islandable microgrid technologies. The system developed should be compatible with existing infrastructure and loads, should be easy to assemble on-site, and should be designed for low installation costs as well as high efficiency and reliability. In addition to these goals, project Gridbase also seeks to investigate the social and economic impacts of the immersion of such microgrid systems into existing energy economies, and will use the results of this research to inform the design of an automated control system. The system is designed to promote the equitable and useful allocation of energy throughout these networks during times of electrical scarcity.
