Overview

Arizona's agriculture industry faces an existential challenge: how to maintain productivity and economic viability in an increasingly water-scarce future. The Arizona Hub for Agriculture Innovation (AHAI) is a $3,000,000 statewide research and innovation accelerator designed to answer that question at scale.

AHAI unites the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, and Northern Arizona University in a single, coordinated effort to transform agricultural research into scalable, industry-ready solutions for farmers statewide. Centered in Yuma — Arizona's hub for year-round agriculture and innovation — the platform aligns research capacity, industry partnerships, and state priorities to ensure long-term agricultural resilience.

The Luminosity Lab is leading ASU's involvement in the initiative, spearheading the Hub's efforts to develop advancements in ag technology. The work bridges Luminosity's core strengths in interdisciplinary R&D and rapid prototyping with domain expertise from the Morrison School of Agribusiness, applying them to real production environments across the state.
